Who qualifies for free solar panels

If you receive any of the following, you may qualify. The payment has to be in the homeowner's name. The State Pension on its own does not qualify.

  1. Fuel Allowance. Part of the National Fuel Scheme.
  2. Jobseeker's Allowance. Over six months, with a child under 7.
  3. Working Family Payment. In the homeowner's name.
  4. One-Parent Family Payment. In the homeowner's name.
  5. Domiciliary Care Allowance. In the homeowner's name.
  6. Carer's Allowance. And you live with the person you care for.
  7. Disability Allowance. Over six months, with a child under 7.

What this page does not decide

grantsolar introduces homeowners to an installer. We do not install solar panels and we do not approve grants. The solar PV grant is for the homeowner. If you rent, the owner would need to make the enquiry. The published grant maxima are separate from this list.

An enquiry is not an application to SEAI. SEAI decides whether a grant is paid.
