The two published maxima
These are published SEAI figures, not an approval. An installer and SEAI still have to confirm the home.
Higher grant
Up to €9,000
For a homeowner who lives in the home and receives a qualifying payment.
- Panels up to €8,400, within 4 kWp
- Battery of 5 kWh or more: €600
- Fuel Allowance counts. The State Pension alone does not.
- The payment must be in the homeowner's name
Standard grant
Up to €2,400
For other eligible homes, including a landlord who does not live there.
- Solar PV grant up to €1,800
- Battery grant €600
- Home built and occupied before 2025
- No previous solar PV grant on that meter

FAQs
Questions homeowners ask
Does grantsolar install solar panels?
No. grantsolar introduces homeowners to an installer. We do not survey roofs, quote for an installation, or carry out the work. Installers can usually fit the panels in a single day once the grant is confirmed.
Is this a grant approval?
No. The figures on this page are published SEAI maxima. SEAI decides whether a grant is paid, and approval has to be in place before any work starts.
Does an old-age pension qualify for the €9,000 grant?
The State Pension on its own does not. Fuel Allowance does, including for many people over 66 who pass the Fuel Allowance means test. The payment has to be in the homeowner's name.
Do you cover my county?
Yes. The enquiry is for homes across Ireland. The Eircode tells us the county so an introduction can go to installers who cover that area.
What if I rent?
The solar PV grant is for the homeowner. If you do not own the home, the owner would need to make the enquiry.
Who receives my details?
Only if you consent. Relevant installers for your area can then receive the enquiry, including the payment category you selected. We do not promise that only one installer will see it.
What happens after I submit?
Your enquiry is saved with the details you provided. Relevant installers for your area can use it to get in touch. Submitting does not apply to SEAI and does not book an installation.
How long will a reply take?
Timing depends on installer availability in your area. We share your enquiry promptly when the lead destination is configured, but we do not promise a reply window.
